I wrapped up my second year of teaching this past week. I honestly can't believe how quickly the year flew by. With each conclusion of the school year, there is a mix of both excitement and sorrow. If you are a teacher, you know that the end of the school year always comes with those two mix of emotions. On one hand, I am looking forward to the promise of sweet summer days. Even though I will be teaching summer school in the weeks to come, I still have a lot more rest and relaxation built into my schedule compared to the normal routine of the school year. With that, I am looking forward to getting back into my blogging rhythm as well.

On the other hand, the end of the school year always presents a sad note. I spent 183 days with twenty-six little kiddos. We laughed together. Cried together. I kept their schedules. They counted the cups of coffee I drank. They asked me every day how my little kitten Rosie was doing. They were with me on my high days and my low days. It is always a weird feeling knowing that I won't have another day in the classroom with that group of students. That's the funny thing about teaching -- You look forward to the days of summer . . . but once they're here, you can't help but feel a little sense of heartache.

But alas, come August I will start the routine all over again. All while welcoming twenty-six little smiling faces into our classroom that we will call home for 183 school days.

In another note, I wanted to send a quick thank-you to ChicWish for sending me some truly stunning items of clothing. This sunshine yellow eyelet dress is helping me welcome the warmer days that are ahead. They sent me several other pieces that I will continue to style on both my blog and my Instagram!
