Things aren't always flowers and dandelions (or orange print cami tops in this case) in the life of The Teacup of Style. Even though I love a fruit printed cami as much as the next girl, I also know that social media and pretty blog pictures can hide a lot.

My life is pretty darn good: I have a loving husband, my dream job, and some bright days ahead of me. But just like everyone else, sometimes the bright days seem like they are far, far, far away.

Because, just like everyone else, I struggle too.

This week has been one of those struggle-filled, tired eyed, "I don't know why I'm anxious" weeks. . . and quite frankly, it has felt AWFUL. While editing these photos for today's post, I decided to take a mini-break and crack open one of the books that I have had on my side-table by my couch. The book is titled, Univited, by Lysa TerKeurst. It was a book that many of my friends in college read and recommended. While wandering around a bookstore a couple months ago, I stumbled across it and decided to purchase it based upon my friends raving reviews. And today, I finally cracked it open.

Since, much like me, some others may not be having great week, I decided it would be best to share something that really resonated with me from TerKeurst's book:

"The beliefs we hold should hold us up even when life feels like it's falling apart...I couldn't keep my old broken beliefs, nail a little Jesus truth to the side, and expect stability. I knew I had to stop assessing God's goodness by how my life felt at any given time."

So, life may not be all that you would wish it would be right now. That definitely is the case for me this week. But, I am going to take that little excerpt to heart for the remainder of this week.

That being said, I can't always pick what happens to me or in my life. But, at the end of the day, Jesus Christ Himself has picked me as his own, and that is all that matters.
