How in the world is it already August?!? For teachers, August means the beginning of a new school year . . . and as a brand spanking new teacher {#newbie} I am busy prepping and decorating my new classroom, brainstorming lessons, and meeting my new staff. These past couple of weeks have been a complete whirlwind, but despite the sometime overwhelmingness of it all, I am still beyond thankful to FINALLY be living my dream of becoming an elementary school teacher!

Since my summer break is coming to an end, I thought it would be fitting to share my top five favorites things that I did or experienced this summer!

1. Getting married: June 3, 2017 was hands down the best day of my life! I am beyond thankful that I married my best friend. I can't believe that we have already been married for over two months. I am so excited to spend a lifetime with my AMAZING hubby.

2. Honeymooning in Hawaii: We could not have had a more perfect honeymoon. Hawaii is such an amazing honeymoon spot, and our trip definitely did not disappoint. I am still having Hawaii withdrawals, even though our vacation ended a couple months ago.

3. Settling into our new apartment: Even though our apartment is tiny, I have loved building a home with my loving husband. We have some fun routines in our little home, and I am excited to continue to make memories in our cozy home!

4. Getting the keys to my first classroom: It has been my dream for 15+ years to become an elementary school teacher . .  . as you could image, I was pretty stoked to receive the keys to my first OWN classroom. It was a pretty surreal moment for me, and I am so thankful to be blessed with the opportunity to teach a group of fun and adorable third graders this year!

As you can see, this summer was pretty monumental for me. I am so grateful for all of the major milestone moments that happened this summer! I hope that you had a lovely summer, and that you have a lovely fall season ahead!
