If you read last Friday's blog post, you would know that I was suffering from a terrible cold . . . or so I thought! It turned out that . . . that instead of a cold . . . this teacher was dealing with a dreadful bout of strep throat. Thankfully, after a quick stop at Urgent Care, I am finally on the mend.

Something that I am equally as thankful for is finding a moment to dabble in my new favorite combo: blush-pink and anything leopard. It is a trend that is tried & true, and I am glad that I am finally jumping on the bandwagon.

You can try out this trend without breaking the bank, which is a win-win in my book! My blush ruffled flowy top is currently on sale for under $35 AND this adorable patterned leopard print scarf is sitting pretty at just under $20.

Have a lovely Tuesday! Make sure to stay healthy and germ free!

white cold-shoulder thermal top

My Outfit Details: SHIRT Cold Shoulder Asymmetrical Ruffle Top (under $18!) // JEANS Mid-Wash Light Wash Jeans (on sale!) //  NECKLACE Gold Kendra Scott Necklace // EARRINGS Pink Earrings (similar linked) // SHOES Wedge Sandals // PURSE Tory Burch Crossbody Purse

It has finally happened . . . I have my first cold of the school year. Just in time for the upcoming weekend. Sadly, it looks like body aches, a sore throat, and a runny nose are on the agenda for the next few days to come. Bummer!

Thankfully, there is at least one good thing to ease the sadness of a weekend cold.  My new favorite cold shoulder ruffle top is on sale for under $18! Even though it is made out of a thermal material, it is the perfect transition top for summer because it is extremely lightweight.

I hope that you have a lovely weekend! I'll just be wrapped up in a blanket with a cup of hot tea and a box of tissues next to me! Let's hope I kick this cold soon!

6 activities that I do when I am stressed

October 9, 2017

My Outfit Details: CARDIGAN Colorblock Cardigan (sold out, similar linked that is super expensive) // TEE White V-Neck Tee // PANTS White Crop Pants (on sale!) // NECKLACE Pink Layered Beaded Necklace (c/o) // SHOES Tory Burch Sandals // PURSE Black Fringe Crossbody Purse (similar linked)

I love being an elementary school teacher. I literally would not want any other vocation in the world. No matter how much I love being a teacher, it definitely is a job that does not lack in the stress department...

I have been trying to find different activities that help to alleviate some of the stress. I am definitely not any expert in the stress-relieving department, but here are some tips and tricks that you can maybe try out and see if they work for you.

1. Read My Devotional Every Night
As a teacher, you often lay awake at night thinking: "Did I email that parent back? / Did I make copies for math tomorrow? / I hope _______ (enter student name) is going to have a better day tomorrow." . . . and the list goes and on.

As a way to help combat the bedtime overthinking that typical plagues teachers, I have gotten into the rhythm of reading my Daily Devotional every night before going to bed. I immediately feel calm after reading my Devotional and it tends to help turn my mind off from all of the overthinking. I am currently reading out of the "Jesus Calling" Daily Devotional.

P.S. If you ever have any questions about Christianty or Jesus, feel free to email me at teacupofstyle@gmail.com. I would love to discuss faith with you!

2. Take a TV Break
I tend to leave school around 4:30, but that doesn't mean the work and lesson planning ends. I often bring home various lesson planning or prep work with me. I find it helpful to work on work related stuff after dinner, and not immediately once I get home. Instead, I turn on the TV and skim some of my favorite fashion blogs. The Netflix series that I am currently working through right now is, Gossip Girl (and I highly recommend it!)

3. Bake
Baking is so soothing to me, and plus you get to have some yummy treats in your kitchen for the rest of the week!

4. Plan Fun Future Events
I love having something on the calendar to look forward to, like a concert or a Girls Night Out! Whenever I have a stressful week, I am always thankful to have something on the calendar to look forward to that is non-work related.

5. Go Out to Eat Once a Week
There is something about putting on a cute outfit and going out to eat with the hubby or friends! It is always good to break up the routine at least once during the week. Plus, you don't have to stress about dishes later!

6. Pray, Pray, Pray
and pray some more!

Feel free to try out any of my tips, and let me know if they work for you! Have a lovely and hopefully stress-free week!

OTS plaid top

October 2, 2017

My Outfit Details: SHIRT Plaid OTS Top // PANTS White Wide Leg Pants (similar linked) // EARRINGS Pink Beaded Earrings (c/o) // NECKLACE Kendra Scott Necklace // PURSE Tory Burch Crossbody Purse // SHOES Platform Wedges (on sale!!!)

Happy Monday! I can't believe how quickly this weekend flew by. Even though the weekend came and went, I enjoyed every single minute of it! On Saturday, I spent the whole day cleaning and decorating my house for fall. On Sunday, we went to church, did laundry, and I added some new fall items to my closet. All in all, it was a great weekend!

Even though you aren't supposed to wear white after labor day...I tend to break that rule a handful of times a month. Opps! I just love how my blue plaid top pops against my white jeans. As you know, this girlie is all about good deals, and I jumped for joy when I saw that this adorable off-the-shoulder plaid top was under $20! My favorite blush beaded tassel-like earrings finish off the look with a warm touch to this cool-tone outfit.

I hope that you have a lovely rest of your day!

My Outfit Details: SWEATER White Cold Shoulder Sweater (similar linked) // SPORTS BRA Printed J.Crew Sports Bra (perfect for layering!) JEANS Articles of Society Jeans // NECKLACE Gold Kendra Scott Pendant Necklace // SHOES Nike Running Shoes // PURSE Black Fringe Crossbody Purse // SUNGLASSES Tortoise Shell Sunnies

Boy, have I been tired these past handful of days. At precisely 9pm each night, I start to doze off while typing away on my computer with The Office playing in the background. As you could imagine, when I'm not on the clock lately, I gravitate towards comfy and causal looks.

Several weeks back, the hubby brought me home a pair of adorable Nike tennis shoes to wear during my more casual moments! They are a great addition to any comfy and casual look! I have to say, I have worn my Nike's WAY more than I thought I would. Originally, I thought I would cycle them into my outfits about once a week . . . but I am wearing them at least three to four times a week. They are THAT comfortable.

Thankfully I have some comfy shoes and large cups of coffee to get me threw the days that I am feeling extra sleepy :)

forest green & blush pink

September 22, 2017

My Outfit Details: SWEATER Cozy Forest Green Sweater // JEANS Articles of Society // EARRINGS Beaded Drop Earrings (c/o) // NECKLACE Kendra Scott Necklace // SHOES Black Block Heel Bootie (similar linked) // PURSE  Black Reversible Free People Tote

Cozy sweaters are my JAM! I was wandering the aisles of Nordstrom last weekend and I immediately fell head-over-heels for this forest green snug number. I rapidly grabbed my size in all five of the available colors and hustled on over to the dressing room.

Even though I settled on the forest green option, I will probably be back for another color soon (I especially have my eyes on the blush pink verison!)  I love how effortlessly chic this forest green version looks paired with these blush pink baubles and a pair of skinny jeans

I hope you had a lovely first official day of fall. Even though I have been burning my fall scented candles and baking batches upon batches of Pillsbury Halloween Pre-Made Cookies, I am still excitedly welcoming the fall days to come!

ruffle bell cuff sweater

September 18, 2017

My Outfit Post: SWEATER Ruffle Bell Cuff Sweater (under $25!) // JEANS Articles of Society Jeans // NECKLACE Gold Kendra Scott Necklace // EARRINGS Gold Hoop Earrings // SHOES Black Boots

Even though the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale was several months ago, I am just starting to wear my picks now that the weather is cooling off. One of my favorite items I got from the sale was this stunning and cozy ruffle bell sleeve sweater. It is currently at a price that is an absolute steal, and it is even cheaper then what it was during the steal.

In other news, pumpkins have started to make an appearance all around my little apartment and inside my classroom.

Fun fact, Target has a fall candle that I have been burning nonstop . . . I even went back to Target after purchasing it and bought two more (that's how OBSESSED I am!)

I hope that you have a lovely week! I'll be busy prepping for fall and teaching my lovely little third graders!
