floral & gingham dress

I don't think I have ever been this obsessed with a dress before. And that's saying a lot, considering I own over twenty-five LBD's (little black dresses). But when my eyes laid on this beautiful blue beauty, I instantly had this feeling that my closet was somewhat lacking. I am currently saving this dress for a special occasion that is in the near future, and I can't wait to bring it back out again!

Now onto these shoes. I could probably write a five page paper on the amazingness that are these shoes...They're that good. I've had my eyes on these for well over a year now, and I am so ecstatic that I finally have them in my closet. Prepare yourself, I already know these are going to be my most worn shoes of the season. You've been warned ;)

Sadly, I am still sick and I will be going to the doctors tomorrow. Hopefully, they can help me say "adios" to this sickness.

13. Grey Floral Printed Fit-and-Flare Dress (my second favorite from the list!)
14. White & Baby Blue Patterned Dress (such a timeless & classy silhouette!)

In lieu of the upcoming Easter holiday, I wanted to create some outfit inspiration for the dressy occasion that is this amazing holiday-- He is risen!! I am still undecided about what I am going to wear, but I am loving this gorgeous gingham piece and this printed beauty! Whatever I end up deciding on, I will definitely end up wearing these nude lace-up sandals. I've had my eyes on these shoes for over a year now, and I am so excited that they are finally mine!

On another note, my last college spring break is this week. Sadly, it has not started off on the best note. If you follow me on snapchat (@teacupofstyle) you saw that I woke up Saturday with a nasty cold and I have spent the past two days trying to recover. I also take the CSET on Thursday, so I will be studying 24/7 until my testing time. I am still extremely happy to be home and relaxing with my family. Time spent at home is just the fuel I need to gear up for my last month and a half of college!

Happy Monday :)

instagram lately

I hope you are having a lovely Friday! I realized that I have not done an Instagram Recap/Round-up in forever. The Teacup of Style was long overdue for one! As always, I link up all of the item details, and very similar items if a particular item is sold out and I happen to find an almost identical twin piece online.

P.S. If you are not currently following along at my Instagram, my handle is @teacupofstyle  :)

I have to say, this is one of the cutest spring tops that I have seen for this spring so far! The price tag isn't too shabby either, since it is sitting right around $10. It also comes in three other colors, if this pink/coral striped one isn't your cup of tea. This insanely cute shirt graced the blog in this recent post.

I invested in these super cute strappy studded nude sandals last year and I am so happy that I did! I have worn them so much... They are available in two colors, nude and black, and I am hoping to add the black to my collection soon! I also loved styling them in this post from a couple weeks back.

This striped cotton maxi dress  was my favorite find from last year! I'm so sad that it just sold out, but  I will keep my eyes peeled to see if it is restocked!

spring layers

My Outfit Details: SHIRT Striped Long Sleeve Shirt // CARDIGAN Slouchy White Short Sleeve Cardigan (old, very similar linked) // JEANS Dark Washed Bootcut Jeans (so comfortable & only $35!) // PURSE Black Free People Tote // SHOES Heeled Sandals (similar linked from the same retailer) // NECKLACE Smaller Gold Necklace // EARRINGS Pearl Studs (mine are a family heirloom, similar linked) // SUNGLASSES Black Oakley Sunnies

A thin long sleeve, comfortable jeans, and cute spring sandals has been my uniform as of late. It has was a little chilly this weekend, so I added a short sleeve cardigan to provide some added warmth. I feel in love with drapey short sleeve cardigans promptly last summer, mainly because I adore layers. I love that they promote layering, even in the hotter summer months, because of their short-sleeved and light style. This pink one would be perfect for spring! They can even double as a comfy cover-up when paired with a cute bathing suit.

BTW, I've been on the hunt for a cute (and affordable) one-piece bathing suit! I've found so many cute ones online, but I'm picky when it comes to online bathing suit shopping. I'd much rather make my bathing suit purchase in-store so that I could try it on. Does anybody have any retailer recommendations? I'd love to hear them :)

Have a blessed day! :)

tasteful teal

My Outfit Details: LONG SLEEVE Teal Shirt (similar linked from the same retailer) // BRALETTE White Lace Bralette // SHORTS White Chino Shorts (only $25!) // SHOES Floral Lace-Up Flats (still on sale for under $45!) // PURSE Beige Crossbody Bag // WATCH 'Georgia' Fossil Watch // EARRINGS Orange Kendra Scott 'Elle' Earrings // BRACELETS Initial Charm Bangle & Birthstone Charm Bracelet & Heart Charm Bangle & Anchor Charm Bracelet // NECKLACE Delicate Gold 'Providence' Necklace

Life doesn't always go according to plan, and I am suddenly bombarded with that realization every now and again (and more frequently than I would like to experience). Take this weeks outfit photoshoot for example. My photos were accidentally taken in some odd setting on my camera, and only a handful were salvageable for each post that I have lined up this week. In moments like these, I am always reminded of Proverbs 3:5-6. It states, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Even though I am 100% positive that God was not the reason behind my messed up photos (the more likely culprit was human error), I am still reminded in moments like these to just trust and to not give into my frustration. I know, easier said than done, right?

This verse has been popping up at the most random places lately, and I know that God is telling me something. This is such an interesting and unique time in my life. I graduate in less than two months. My seventeen-year streak of being a competitive athlete ends. I move back home to complete my teaching credential {of course, after I hopefully get accepted to at least one of the two schools I applied at}.

Man, is this a transitional time in my life or what?

I have found that during transitional and change-filled periods, anxieties, doubts, and worries often rise. And that is often a fact that holds truth for just about everyone. Some that are on replay in my mind are: "What if I don't get into a teaching credential program?" / "Time is moving so quickly, and how do I cherish every moment before graduation arrives?" / "With graduation comes the arrival of student loans...Why do I have to start of my career in debt?"

But, as I have been gratefully learning these past few months, God's plan is alive and well, and because of that, everything will be okay. Even if it doesn't seem like it. Even if you are on your knees crying. Even if the world feels like it is ending. Even in moments like these. All will be okay. Rest in the ease that God handpicked the plans and callings that he has aligned for you. Rest assured, what ever is meant to be, will be, as He promised.

Have a blessed and lovely Monday!

perfect pink

My Outfit Details: SHIRT Striped Pink Peplum Tank (only $8 now--available in 4 colors!) // CARDIGAN Pink Draped Cardigan // JEANS Boyfriend Jeans (one's from the same retailer linked) // SHOES Rebecca Minkoff 'Georgina' Sandals // PURSE Small Crossbody Bag // NECKLACE Layered Necklace (similar linked from the same retailer) // WATCH Leather Fossil 'Georgia' Watch // BRACELETS Kendra Scott 'Jordana' Bangle Set (onsale!) & Tiffany's Charm Bracelet // EARRINGS Pearl Studs (similar linked--mine were passed down to me as a heirloom!) // SUNGLASSES Metal Rimmed Cat Eye Sunnies ($12)

Happy Friday! Today was welcomed happily with some lovely rain, which is helping to aid the destructive California drought. Despite the rainy week that I am oh so happy about, I am still prompt in my start to crave some items embody a certain springtime feel . . .

Cue this pink/coral striped peplum tank. My excitement for this top is unreal. Pink. Striped. Peplum. Could it get any better?! It is available in four colors and is currently on sale for less than $10. Your springtime craving will be definitely satisfied with this beauty!

Layering necklaces has also been a reoccurring theme for me these past few months. I adore necklaces that have built-in layers, like this unique necklace. It is not the one that I am wearing in this outfit, because mine is sold out, but it is equally as cute and it definitely fulfills the layered look.

Have a lovely weekend! And thank you for stopping by!

casual pink & green attire

My Outfit Post: SHIRT Green Thermal Tank (on sale, less than $30!) // JEANS Boyfriend Jeans (same retailer linked, different style) // SHOES Floral Lace-Up Pointy Toe Flats (on sale, less than $45) // PURSE Fossil 'Erin' Crossbody Bag // EARRINGS Kendra Scott 'Lee' Earrings (so light and comfortable!) // WATCH Fossil 'Georgia' Leather Watch // NECKLACE Small Gold Necklace  // SUNGLASSES Ray-Ban Pink Mirrored Aviator Sunnies

It is officially declared, apart from gold and white, pink and green is my new favorite color combo. I am instantly reminded of a lovely spring afternoon when the two pair effortlessly together! Ecstatically, I am still obsessed with these pink mirrored sunnies. They are going to look fantastic when paired with a white summery dress or a super cute swimsuit in the warmer months to come . . . the possibilities are endless in my mind!

My fun floral lace-up flats are still available online. They are such a cute take on the trendy lace-up trend that has weaved itself into almost every retailer and brand. I've been eagerly eyeing these pale pink lace-ups as of late!

On a more personal note, I have been overwhelmed with all that is currently going on! Graduation is just a mere two months away, and I feel like I am running around trying to get all of my schoolwork and teaching credential application requirements completed. Now just add Track and Field, a part-time job, and my blog on top of those academic requirements, and you gain a bit of a sense of why I am overwhelmed during this hectic time. Despite the current busyness, I am so grateful and excited for the future ahead! Exciting things are happening, and thank you for tagging along on this wonderful journey with me :)
