january favorites

January 29, 2016

How in the world is it already the end of January?! That means it is time for another monthly favorites post! This month, I have been incorporating more pink into my wardrobe in the form of accessories and lip colors! I know that it is not spring yet . . . but I am starting to jumpstart on my incorporation of bright colors into my daily looks!

P.S. Yes, this bag is apart of my favorites again! I have been wearing it non-stop!

My Monthly Favorites:
1. Leave-in Treatment with Argan Oil: This stuff is amazing! I put it into my hair after I blow-dry it. The results? My hair is healthy, smooth, and silky the rest of the day.
2. Lip Crayon in 'Napa Vineyard": This lip crayon provides the perfect pink tint for any makeup combination. It will be amazing for the upcoming spring months.
3. Dior "Blooming Bouquet" Perfume: This perfume bottle is almost too cute to use . . . almost ;) Plus, it is the perfect floral scent because it is not too overpowering!
4. Kate Spade Pink Watch: I am already creating numerous outfit combinations in my mind with this watch. This is the watch that standouts in any and every Arm Party.
5. Orange 'Elle' Kendra Scott Earrings: I own these earrings in three colors. I'm obsessed with how well they complement any and every outfit they are paired with. This orange pair is going to be PERFECT for the upcoming spring season.
6. Oversized Black Tote: I have talked about this bag non-stop for the past month. I call it my Mary Poppins bag because it literally fits everything--school books, make-up, notebooks, camera . . . the possibilities are endless with this bag. Plus, it is reversible!!
7. Aviator Sunnies: These sunglasses have been incorporated into many blog posts over the past year! They are the perfect "pool-side" sunnies and look adorable when worn with a spring and summertime look.
8. The "Armor of God" Devotional Bible Study: My church is participating in a seven week long women's bible study. We have meet two times so far and I have LOVED every minute of it. If you are looking for a daily bible study to jump into, I highly recommend this one by Priscilla Shirer. We have been working through it together during our session but it is a study that you could totally do solo as well!

Have a lovely weekend! And thank you so much for stopping by ;)

bootcut jeans?

January 27, 2016

My Outfit Details: SHIRT White Tank Top // JEANS Dark Washed Bootcut Jeans // CARDIGAN Comfy Grey Cardigan  (old, similar linked) // BOOTS Black Wedged Booties // PURSE Black Tote // EARRINGS Orange 'Elle' Earrings // NECKLACE Delicate Gold Necklace // BRACELETS Pink 'Jana' Bracelet & Gold Hook Bracelet

They're back . . . bootcut jeans that is ;) Arguably, these are the most comfortable pair of jeans I own. The price point also makes them some of the most affordable pair of jeans that money can buy. I love the unique combo they provide when they are paired with wedged booties.

I love styling this mock tank top! It pairs well with every jacket, skirt, pair of pants and basically any other article of clothing in my closet! I own it in two colors (white & black) and I am hoping to add a few more colors into my collection soon! Plus, it is only $20!

I have had a busy week! School is in full week and I have begun the process of applying to Teaching Credential Programs! Wish me luck :)

draped moto jacket

January 25, 2016

My Outfit Details: JACKET Draped Moto Jacket // DRESS Strapy Black Dress // PURSE Large Black Tote // BOOTS Light Brown Ankle Booties // WATCH Brown Leather Strap Watch // EARRINGS Pearl Studs // NECKLACE Delicate Gold Necklace

I think every math class emphasize the following math problem:

drapped fabric + moto jacket = perfection!

Good news my friends, this jacket is bound to be a perfect closet staple for the transition from winter to spring! It is always so difficult to dress during the next few months. Our temptation is to dress in light dresses and colorful patterns...sadly, the weather is still telling us to dress in puffy jackets and thick scarfs. But, this jacket provides the perfect solution to almost every winter/spring identity problem! It is a fun design, a lighter shade than our black coats, and it will still keep you nice and toasty!

The past few months (and if you have been a regular follower of The Teacup of Style, you can wholeheartedly attest to this statement) I have been wearing my pearl studded earrings NON-STOP! They are the perfect everyday earrings and provide such a classy and elegant feel to any and every outfit. They are always my go-to earring!

I hope that you had a lovely weekend! I visited my family yesterday with my boyfriend and ate some amazing food. I made chicken and cheese enchiladas for lunch {my favorite} and my dad made spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. I'm still feeling stuffed from all the food I ate. But hey, I ain't complain' ;)

high-rise necklines

January 22, 2016

My Outfit Details: SHIRT Turtleneck Tank (striped version sold out, still available in two colors) // PANTS Dark Skinny Jeans // JACKET Black Shaggy Jacket (sold out, very similar linked) // PURSE Black Crossbody Purse // EARRINGS Pearl Studs // NECKLACE Gold & White Necklace  (old, similar linked) WATCH Brown Leather Strap Watch // BOOTS Black Boots With Gold Chain (similar linked, another similar version here

This season, I have been loving tops with high-neck lines. I particularly love this striped one. Plus, it is on sale for less then $30 with an additional 40% off! You can't beat that! ;) Also, I have been wearing another very similar shirt non-stop {P.S. The neckline is not as high on these ones} Side note, they are only $20 and I already have them in two colors! They are my go-to basic for any outfit addition.

One of my go-to jewelry pieces is this watch! I have found that it easily compliments every outfit because of it's simplicity. It also pairs well with all of the other jewelry I have in my collection. That's a Win-Win situation!

I hope that you have a lovely weekend :) Thank you for reading!

What I'm Loving Wednesday: Tropical Edition

January 20, 2016

Happy Mid-Week! Today I wanted to share some items that I am currently craving and coveting. Clearly, I am on a little bit of a tropical-spring kick. . . There is just something so exiting about dressing for tropical destinations and future spring endeavors! Plus, in my opinion, you can never start planning cute spring outfits too early ;) The item that I am eyeing them most are these to-die-for beige strappy sandals

5. Dewy Skin Mist (if you want that tropical glow!)
9. Delicate Gold Cuff Bracelet (the perfect detail to any outfit!)
12. Colorful Bracelets (p.s. not sold in a set, bought individually!)

revival of the cropped pants

January 18, 2016

My Outfit Details: SWEATER Cozy Cream Knit Sweater (old, similar linked) // JEANS Black Cropped Jeans // SHOES Matte Black Flats (comfiest flats ever!) // PURSE Large Black Tote (reversible!) // SCARF Wool & Cashmere Blended Scarf // EARRINGS 'Elle' Earrings // WATCH Classic Burberry Watch

As I get older, I love the comfy fit that cropped jeans provide! As the gap between my high school years and current state widens, I become less and less prone to gravitate towards tight body-hugging pieces. That's why I am loving these black cropped jeans! They are stretchy but still showcase that I have a figure. Plus they are high waisted...which means I don't have to spend every minute of the day pulling them up!

I have also been struggling with some foot pain, particularly in my arches. {Years of running seems to do that to you :( } I have become extra thankful for these flats during these past few weeks! They provide support for my achy arches while looking adorable in the process. Even though the price tag is steeper then what I usually look for, I know that they will last me for years to come--which means I can use them when I start teaching in the future!

I hope you are having a lovely start to your week! I have had a busy weekend full of a Track retreat. Since I am a senior, this will be my last team retreat ever! Boy has college flown by!

casual blazer

January 15, 2016

My Outfit Details: BLAZER Casual Blazer (sold out, similar linked, another here) // SHIRT Stylish Leopard Print Top (old, very similar linked) // JEANS Dark Denim Jeans // SHOES Brown Booties // PURSE Small Crossbody Bag// EARRINGS Pearl Studs (under $15) // NECKLACE Bold Sparkly Flower Necklace

I have finally found a blazer that is causal enough to wear to classes and shopping trips! Even though my exact version is sold out, I linked up a very similar style from the same retailer. These two blazers could practically be twins, that is how similar they are ;) Personally, I have found most blazers to be either too dressy or too menswear-y {Can that even be a word? Well, it is now...} This blazer is the perfectly feminine and appropriate for any outing, not just a business meeting!

I have been getting so much use out of these brown booties this season. I love that they have a painted toe and accented straps. They look adorable when paired with jeans and dresses, a win-win situation if you ask me ;)

Have a lovely and safe weekend!

With love,

simple striped tunic

January 13, 2016

After I was done shooting this look, somehow most of my photos were lost :( Thankfully, a handful were saved! But the photos will be minimal and less then normal...

My Outfit Details: SHIRT Striped Black and White Tunic // JEANS Navy Blue Jeans // PURSE Black Tote // SHOES sold out, very similar here and here // NECKLACE Small Silver Necklace // EARRINGS Pearl Studs // BRACELETS Initial Bracelet & Birthstone Bracelet & Anchor Bracelet // LIPS Nars Lip Pencil (in "Cruella")

Here's another look at my outfit (via Instagram) since the rest of my photos were deleted...

I have had my eye on this striped tunic since I tried it on in the dressing room several months back. It is one of the most comfortable things I have ever worn! It is perfect for hurrying between classes, shopping with friends, or even for a more casual date!

I have become more adventurous over the years with my lip color options. As you could imagine, I loved this Nars lip crayon  in the shade "Cruella" because of it's perfect shade of red and it's ample boldness! It applies like a dream and compliments almost every outfit.

This Monday marked the beginning of my last semester as an undergraduate. I am very excited for the months to come and all of the exciting things that will be happening! I will make sure to keep all of you updated :)
