dancing the night away

My Outfit Details: ROMPER Floral Romper (the floral print that I am wearing is sold out) // SHOES Lucky Wedged Sandals // PURSE Beige Crossbody // NECKLACES Delicate Gold NecklaceLong Chain Necklace // BRACELET Pink Wrap Bracelets c/o // EARRINGS Pearl Studs

I am back from a week long vacation from blogging. I was MIA due to a senior track retreat that was followed by a Cross Country retreat. Needless to say, I am exhausted... BUT I am super duper excited to be back and blogging. School starts tomorrow and I am both equally excited and sad at the same time. I had a wonderful summer full of laughs and rest, both things that I am sad to leave behind. But I am looking forward to the routine that school provides. Also, it is the start of my senior year in college--so that is pretty amazing! Oh boy, does time sure fly by.

I wore this outfit to a wedding last weekend near the beach! I have never worn a romper to a wedding before, especially considering that I am a huge fan of dresses. BUT I decided to take a leap of faith and give the romper a go since it was a relaxed wedding by the ocean. Boy, I was not disappointed. I was able to dance the night away without worrying about flashing--which sometimes happens when you add dancing and a billowy dress. My only complaint is that the romper is a little short for my taste, but I couldn't pass up the super adorable floral pattern.

Also, these comfortable wedged sandals were a dream! I was even able to dance the night away in them! That is definitely a first. I hate going barefoot on the dance floor but usually have to due to uncomfortable shoes. But these are the first pair that I have found that are dance-approved. They are definitely Jordan approved as well :)

Have a lovely Monday. Talk to you on Wednesday :)

just a hint of red

My Outfit Details: DRESS Floral Short Sleeved Dress (sold out, similar linked) // SHOES Studded Sandals // PURSE Beige Crossbody Bag // NECKLACE White Statement Necklace // EARRINGS Pearl Studs

I'm trying to get in my last few summer looks before the fall weather rolls in! As a result, I pulled out my new favorite dress that I found on SUPER SALE at Nordstrom Rack. Is there anything better than a pink, red, and grey patterned dress? When you add a pair of strappy and studded sandals, you create the perfect combination of sweet yet sassy :). I tried desperately to find this dress online. I turned over every rock, and even though I just bought the dress, I could not find it anywhere online. Sorry girlies!

I head back to school tomorrow for several retreats for my Cross Country and Track and Field team. For the next week and a half, I will be kind of spotty on both The Teacup of Style and my social media handles. But I will try to be as present as I possibly can! :)

dainty details

My Outfit Details: DRESS Black Swing Dress // SHOES Strappy Sandals (old, similar linked) // PURSE Burberry Bag (this season's is linked) // NECKLACE Pearl Necklace (vintage, similar linked) // BRACELET Tiffany & Co. charm bracelet // BRACELET Pink Wrap Bracelet c/o // EARRINGS Kendra Scott 'Elle' earrings // WATCH Burberry watch // SUNGLASSES Blue Aviators

Little black dress? Are you tired of hearing me say that? Sorry, not sorry. The LBD is not leaving The Teacup of Style any time soon my friend. I mean, this LBD is a swing dress. Can I just wear this for the rest of my days, please? It does not get any better. This is the type of dress that will transition perfectly into fall. In a couple months, add tights and little booties and you are good to go!

I've been really into classic styles lately. From a classy black dress to a timeless bag, classic pieces are something that you want to keep in your closet for any and every occasion.

daily uniform

My Outfit Details: DRESS: Target  // KNIT CARDIGAN: Target // SHOES: H&M // PURSE: Fossil // NECKLACE: Kendra Scott

If you've been following my blog for a while, you will know that this is my favorite outfit combination: dress & knit cardigan. I like to label it as my daily uniform. It is a comfy and chic duo that will provide no-fuss during a busy errand filled day! {C'mon, isn't that basically everyday?} I also highly recommend this dress! Even though it is super inexpensive, it is so so so soft. I wish you could feel the softness through the computer screen. {Too weird?!}
I'm just bummed that I didn't get more photos for this post. Actually, there were at least twenty on my camera roll, BUT most were outtakes. Apparently I was a wiggle worm during this shoot and managed to mess up almost every single picture. Classic Jordan.

Happy Wednesday :) You've made it halfway through the work week, you've got this!

P.S. For all my usual readers, sorry for all of the template and blog design changes over the past month. I've been testing out new designs, colors, themes, etc. and trying to find the best one that will best compliment The Teacup of Style and my brand. Thank you for putting up with all the changes :)

little black dress

My Outfit Details: Ann Taylor Loft // CARDIGAN: Target // SHOES: Target // PURSE: Burberry (more recent style linked) // DELICATE GOLD NECKLACE: Alex and Ani // LONG GOLD NECKLACE: Forever 21 (less than $5!) // SUNGLASSES: Tiffany & Co.

Recently, there has been a "surge" of the LWD--"Little White Dress." But what is a trend that will never fade? The LBD. Home girl {aka myself} owns twenty-two black dresses. Does anyone know of   a LBD support group that I can attend?! This girl needs to be first in line, pronto.
I've always been obsessed with pairing a classy black dress with an equally as classy knit cardigan. Hands down, there is nothing more professional than this duo. Plus, as an added bonus of course, you can wear this combination in a variety of situations. From church, to a laid-back brunch. From class to the mall. You honestly can not go wrong. I personally decided to make the look more "laid back" by adding flat gold sandals instead of heels.
P.S. I've been wanting to partake in the chain/necklace trend but didn't want to spend a fortune to do so. FYI, you can get this super cute long gold necklace {pictured wearing above} for less than $5! Now that is a deal that I can not refuse ;)

i'm walking on sunshine

My Outfit Details: SHIRT: Free People old, very similar here (and less than $13!) // SHORTS: Target sold out, similar here // PURSE: Fossil  // SHOES: Rebecca Minkoff // NECKLACE: Kendra Scott // EARRINGS: Nordstrom // WATCH: Fossil // BRACELETS: Alex and Ani (initial), Alex and Ani (anchor), Alex and Ani (birthstone)

There is something about yellow that immediately reminds me of the summer sun. Anyone else feel that way? Sadly, I feel like my wardrobe is majorly lacking in the yellow department. Isn't that pretty common, though?
But several weeks ago, I was making one of my weekly trips to my home away from home, Target. I always glance at the clothes section first because of how cute and colorful their selection is. On this fateful day, I nearly fainted because my eyes landed on a pair of mustard yellow, pom pom induced, lace themed shorts. I mean, can it get any better? {Maybe if they had pockets, too. But that is almost too good to be true...} But, I walked away empty handed, talking my way out of buying them. I regretted my decision ever since.
Along comes yesterday, once again I was taking part in my weekly Target mission. BAM! My eyes graced across a decadent pair of shorts, the ones that I had regretfully left behind several weeks prior. There was one pair left, in my size...it was basically fate. Sadly, I could not find the shorts anywhere online to link them for you. But hopefully you get as lucky as I do and stumbled across a pair in store.

Have a lovely {and safe} weekend!
Thank you for stopping by :)
