feelin the fourth

My outfit details: SHIRT: Hollister & Co. (on sale, less than $15!) // SHORTS: Hudson // SHOES: Target // PURSE: Fossil // WATCH: Fossil

I honestly think that I am the worst at coming up with blog post titles...If anyone has any tips or tricks to how they brainstorm their titles, I would love to hear about them in the comments below! :)

Anyways, I wanted to bring some Fourth of July inspo to The Teacup of Style. I usually stick with a pretty casual vibe on this holiday because it is usually 100+ degrees and I usually am running around having fun with friends and family. Therefore, I ultimately opt for shorts and a comfy t-shirt combo.

The Fourth of July happens to be my boyfriend's 22nd birthday, and this will be my second year in a row of going to his family's ranch with him to celebrate (it's been a family tradition for them for many years)! I will definitely be posting pictures of our adventures so make sure to follow along on Instagram {FYI: My Instagram handle is @teacupofstyle, if you're not already following along!}

simply stated

My outfit details: SHIRT: local boutique, but very similar here (and on sale!) // JEANS: Wit & Wisdom // SANDALS: Steve Madden (mine are from last season, this season's are linked) // CROSSBODY PURSE: Fossil // BANGLE SET: Kendra Scott // SMALL NECKLACE: Dogeared // EARRINGS: Kendra Scott // SUNGLASSES: Tiffany & Co.

Sometimes, things are better when they're just down right simple. That's exactly how I feel about this outfit. I often challenge myself to take the simpler route every once and awhile, mostly because I am the type of girl that layers multiple necklaces or has an arm party of bracelets up to her elbow. But as they say {whoever "they" actually is...} the simpler the better.
So I am sending out a challenge to YOU to step out of your normal "box" and take a risk that is not necessarily within your comfort zone.

P.S. HAPPY FRIDAY!
We made it :)

Happy Wednesday! This outfit post is going to be short and sweet because the "A," "S,"  and "D" keys broke on my computer's keyboard--which is quite an annoying problem to have, as you could imagine :(

instagram round-up

For today's post I am sharing some details from some of my latest Instagram photos. I linked up all of the items that are available, if an item is not linked, it is old and no longer available.
 {P.S. If you aren't already following me, my Instagram handle is @teacupofstyle}

I wore this outfit running errands around town. A comfy dress and simple jewelry is definitely one of my "go-to" summer combos.
(Summery Dress--less than $25!) (Bangle Set) (Nail Polish--color: "I Lilac You")

 Can we please talk about this cookie!? It is from Starbucks and was almost tempted to not eat it and frame it instead...

 Here is another details shot featuring another food item. Typical, very typical.

I am obsessed with this outfit and black dresses in general. (FYI, I have twenty-two hanging in my closet...I think I have a problem)
 (Black Swing Dress) (Studded Sandals--mine are old, but I found a super duper similar and cuter pair) (Bracelet) (Sunglasses)

It has been so stinkin hot where I live, so I have been opting for light and comfortable outfit options. I wore this outfit running errands around town, attempting to avoid the outside heat.

currently craving

It was time for a "Currently Craving" to grace The Teacup of Style. Lately, I have been racking up items on my wish list. I mean, could this hibiscus themed tote be any cuter? And I'm always in the mood to add some Kendra Scott to my collection ;)

Here is what I've been eyeing this summer:

white on white

My outfit details: SHIRT: Free People, old // VEST: Forever 21, thrifted // SHORTS: Old Navy (color: White Scenic) // SHOES: VINCE CAMUTO (last season's, this seasons linked) // WATCH: Fossil // BANGLE SET: Kendra Scott // EARRINGS: Kendra Scott

Last week was literally insane. For the first time in my life, I worked a fifty hour work week. On top of all of that, I also got a cold (go figures...) So in order to save my sanity, I had to cut back on a few things, like blogging for example. I am well aware of my limitations, and I knew that if I was going to make it out alive last week I had to push my hobbies aside for several days.

But I'm back now and ready as ever!

I have searched high and low, far and wide, and finally found the PERFECT pair of shorts. Plus, they're less than $23! These shorts are beyond comfortable and are not too short. I was literally searching the market for a pair of shorts that weren't a throwback to high school days (No thank you short shorts...) For now, I just bought the white pair, but I think I almost convinced myself to buy the other seven colors as well...

I have to apologize because today's post is going to be short and sweet because I am currently dying enjoying my 45 hour work week. Prays are definitely being accepted.

cat lady

My outfit details: KNIT CARDIGAN: 14th & Union (sold out of striped version, but still available in solids!) // CAT SHIRT: American Appareal (old, but similar is linked) // SHORTS: Old Navy (mine are last season, I linked up this seasons version!) // SHOES: Target (finally back in stock, after forever!) // PURSE: Fossil // NECKLACE: Alex and Ani // BANGLE: Made in Mechanicsville c/o // SUNNIES: Tiffany & Co.

I am a self-proclaimed cat lady, and I am not ashamed of it. ;) I have been a lover of animals my whole life, so why wouldn't I want to rock an awesome goggly-eye cat shirt?! Even though this shirt is old, there are thousands of cat themed shirts for you to showcase your love of the feline species, like this super cute tank that I wish was in my closet right now!

Also, I'm wearing my all-time favorite summer time knit cardigan again. It is my new favorite closet staple and I wanted to give you all another way to style it, this time with a tank and shorts. { I styled it with a dress here! } Even though they are still sold out of the striped version, they still have the solid colors available!

After practically waiting forever, my favorite gold sandals were finally restock! Better yet, they are currently on sale for under $18! Woohoo, score!!

Thanks for reading and all of the sweet comments you guys leave! I read and respond to each and every one! :) You all are the best!

patterned dress

My outfit details: DRESS: Target (under $25!) // JEAN JACKET: Forever 21 // PURSE: Fossil // SHOES: Vince Camuto (mine are last season, this season's are linked) // SMALL NECKLACE: Dogeared // BRACELETS: Kendra Scott (bangle set) // SUNNIES: Tiffany & Co.

I declare Southern California weather as officially bipolar. Hear me out. It was 68 degrees today... it is supposed to be 97 on Monday. Um, what?!? Lately, as a result of the colder weather, I am forced to throw on a jean jacket with every dress I step out in. Speaking of this patterned dress, the other day I received the best text message any girl can get from her mom. It read, "There are some dresses on sale at Target, do you want one?" The result? A super chic, insanely comfy, perfectly patterned summertime dress has officially been added to my wardrobe. {P.S. It is under $25! Score!}

My Kendra Scott collection recently grew as well, courtesy of the Jordana Bangle Set. I mean, how could I resist? We basically share the same name {Jordana + Jordan = match made in heaven}... ;) I have really small wrists, so whenever I attempt to wear most bangles they just slide right off or they look awkwardly large. If you share the same problem, do not fear! This bangle set is the one for you! {Oh geeze, I sound like a car commercial. Sorry about that...} It is the first set that I have found that fits perfectly for smaller wrist girls.

Also, I've been downright obsessed with this crossbody bag lately, if you already couldn't tell. It surprisingly fits a lot for it's smaller size! Plus the quality it provides is outta this world!

Thanks for stopping by! :)
