feeling neutral

I'm hoping that this is my last outfit post for a long time where I will be wearing jeans. It is supposed to warm up tomorrow {thank goodness} and I will finally be able to get away with wearing tank tops and dresses without freezing my booty off. :)

Every once in a while, I find myself reaching for all of the neutrals in my closet. But I have found that wearing neutrals does not have to equal "boring," and I would like to believe that this outfit drives that point home indefinitely! I think that an interesting way to tackle the neutral trend is to pair a lot of "neutral" pieces together. The trick though is to make sure that you have some variances of some sort. For example, make sure that they all have a variety of colors, like my outfit above {i.e. I'm wearing white, brown and gray!} By the way, I am obsessed with these flowy tank tops! They come in a ton of colors and they are great quality! I love the fact that they have a higher neckline. Whenever I wear most tank tops, I always find myself adjusting the neckline to make sure my top doesn't fall to low, but that is not a problem at all with this higher cut!{P.S. They're a steal at only $20!}

Also, I wanted to point out the lovely Hibiscus flowers blooming behind me in these photos! I've always been a HUGE fan of flowers and love when they first bloom! So pretty :)

I spent this past weekend roaming around Downtown Disney and the Disneyland Hotel. My little sister had a dance competition there this weekend and I was fortunate enough to be able to tag along. Despite the allure of Disneyland, I almost found myself overwhelmed with how crowded it was! I hadn't realized that it was the 60th Diamond Anniversary. Let's just say that in the future I will be avoiding Disneyland whenever they have any major celebrations...

I wanted to keep my outfits comfy and casual since I would be running around: watching my sister's performances, eating Mickey Mouse pretzels, and roaming around Downtown Disney. This flowy orange top is my newest purchase and it was super comfortable to wear on a busy day! {P.S. It is on sale right now for under $25!} I also can not stop wearing these sandals. They are super unique and go with just about any outfit! I've worn them with dresses, shorts, and jeans. Warning: If you wear them you will get loads of compliments ;)

instagram round-up

Happy Monday! This post is coming to you a little late in the day because I had a crazzzzyyyyy weekend! I spent the past three days down in Anaheim at the Disneyland Hotel and Downtown Disney for my little sister's dance competition. It was a fun adventure but I am definitely glad to be back home!

It has been a few weeks since I posted an Instagram round-up so I figured that it is time! If you aren't already following me on Instagram, my username is teacupofstyle. Without further a due, here is the round-up!
{ P.S. I linked up everything that I could find online! If something is not linked, it is no longer longer available! }

I wore this comfy and laid back outfit for a day full of watching dance performances! P.S. I couldn't resist buying this cute Mickey Mouse pretzel! Yummy.

This week was total insanity. I worked so many hours this week and I am completely drained. First off, I want to apologize for skipping out on Wednesday's post {my usual posting schedule is Monday, Wednesday, Friday} but as I get older I have grasped the important concept of saying "No," even if it is something that you really really want to do. Secondly, I want to apologize that this post is being put up so late today.

It has been so cold for the month of May! I have never been able to get away with wearing jeans this deep into Spring during the previous years.  Despite the chilly weather, I still am bringing out my fun colored tops. Every summer, after coming back from college, I clean out my clothes and get rid of anything that I didn't really wear at all during the school year. As I was doing that, I found this flowy minty green/ baby blue {honestly, it's a mixture of both of those colors} in my closet. All of those white dots are actually little tiny butterflies. {I know, I'm obsessed too!} It was a fun find and is such a cute spring top!

Have a lovely weekend!

My outfit details: PEPLUM SHIRT: BCBG // JEANS: Wit & Wisdom // PURSE: Fossil  // SHOES: Target  (new favorite!) // NECKLACE: BaubleBar // WATCH: Fossil // CHARM BRACELET: Tiffany & Co.  // LIPS: NYX (color: sweet pink)

I have been enjoying my time at home while I am on summer break! My only complaint is that it has been really chilly these past fews days! Usually during the month of May it is well into 90 degree weather, but lately is has been in the mid- 60's! {Maybe I brought the beach weather home with me from college...} I am really craving a day spent by our pool--reading, relaxing, and drinking some ice cold lemonade! Sadly, I haven't been able to spend any time out in the sunshine because it has been too darn cold! Hopefully that will change this week.

Since it has been so cold, I had to pull back out my long sleeve shirts and jeans for a BBQ. I probably could have used a jacket though... {Once the sun went down I was freezing!) This is still one of my all-time favorite shirts! I love the delicate peplum style and the flaterring length. I decided to pair it with my all-time favorite necklace that I wear at least once a week! I definitely recommend it because you can dress it down or dress it up! It goes with literally everything. And I got new shoes, and I am honestly obsessed with them!

I have also been trying out new hairstyles lately, if you couldn't already tell by these pictures. Since my hair is so long right now, it has been fun to switch it up a bit and branch away from my normal beachy-wave vibe that I usually have going on. Plus, some hairstyles {like this one} are actually a lot easier to do than you would think! ;)

Happy Monday!

My Outfit Details: DRESS: Nordstrom (on sale, less than $30!) // JEAN JACKET: Forever 21 // SHOES: Vince Camuto not online, very similar here // EARRINGS: Kendra Scott // DELICATE NECKLACE: Dogeared (I wear this everyday!)

This has to be one of my favorite posts yet! That is because it showcases my go to outfit: a floral dress, a light jacket, and comfy sandals! What is there not to love about an outfit like this?! Also, I highly recommend these turquoise earrings!  I wear them at least a couple times a week and they are the perfect addition to a spring wardrobe! This will definitely be an outfit that I will repeat numerous times throughout the remainder of spring!

Also, it has been pouring rain today here in Los Angeles! Hallelujah! For those of you that do not know, California is currently in a major drought, so we will take any rain that we can get! Plus, it is wonderful to have one last cold spell before the desert heat rolls on in!

Have a wonderful and blessed weekend! As always, thanks for taking the time to stop by!

DRESS: H&M  (old, very similar linked) // CARDIGAN: Target  (not online, very similar linked) // SHOES: Target PURSE: Forever 21 // NECKLACE: Dogeared  // EARRINGS: Made in Mechanicsville c/o // WATCH: Brighton // BRACELETS: Tiffany & Co. & Alex and Ani // SUNNIES: Tiffany & Co.

This outfit is beyond comfortable! I wore it to my first day on the job as a nanny! (Woohoo!)  The dress was beyond comfortable and the cardigan helped to provide a little warmth for the cooler morning. Also these fringe sandals are amazing! Online it says that they are full-priced, but I just picked them up at Target the other day for less than $6! Therefore run {do not walk} to your nearest Target and grab yourself a pair!  I just know that they are going to be wonderful for summer days spent at the beach or for running errands around town!

Have a lovely Wednesday!!

As always, thanks for reading!
