I can not stop wearing these Kendra Scott Earrings . They literally go with EVERYTHING (a girl's dream right?). Not only was I able to style them in this previous blog post (that was centered around a "cozy casual" look) but I am also able to dress them up in this post with an easy top-knot and a flowy dress.

Also this lip stain balm (color is called"Romantic") that I am wearing in this post is rapidly turning into my new favorite lip product. I have worn it in almost every blog post since I discovered it. Plus it's super affordable (making my college budget happy)!!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Libester Award part two

January 27, 2015

Welcome to part two of the Liebster Award series! If you didn't catch part one, you can read the post here! In part one I answered Kelsey's  questions. In the second part of this series I will be answering Savannah's questions and nominating 11 bloggers of my own!

1. What was the most ridiculous but very cool fashion trend you followed?
Acid washed jeans

2. In what era would you most like to have grown up in?
I've always struggled with this question.... but I love the style of the 1920's, so possibly that era would be a good answer...

3. What do you wish you were better at saying "no" to?
Food. I love love love food. I am the classic "over-eater" and there isn't really a food opportunity that I say no to.

4. What one goal do you hope to accomplish this year?
To remain relaxed during stressful times.

5. What would you like to be doing in 10 years?
My plan in 10 years is to have: a loving husband, cute family, and a steady elementary school teaching job.

6. Who did you get your work ethic from?
My daddy! My papa is the hardest and most dedicated person that I know. He strives everyday to provide for his family and I admire all that he has sacrificed for us.

7. What is the worst thing about being a women?
The comparison game that we put upon ourselves. As girls, we always compare and attempt to compete with other girls based off of what they have and what we want. It's always a losing game every time, but we still play.

8. Who would you most like to see in a concert front row?
Bethel! They have beautiful music. My alltime favorite song that they sing is Wonder

9. If you could relive any moment in your life, which would you choose?
I would love to revisit a time in my life when I was in third grade and just go through a normal day. I would love to just be a carefree third grader again.

10. How did you come up with your blog name?
I actually did a whole blog post on my blog's name. You can read about it here--> read about the meaning behind my blog's name!

11. What is one fear you would like to conquer?
The fear of failure.

I nominate the following 11 blogs:

1. Tori from The Champagne Edit
2. Amanda from Affordable by Amanda
3. Sofia from Stylishly in Love
4. Auburn from Auburn Robes
5. Robin from Penn & Quill
6. Erica from Sea of Blooming Dreams
7. Courtney from Beary Petite
8. Allison from xoxo Allison Nicole
9. Gina from Gina Hickman
10. J. Greyce from State of Greyce
11. Carolanna from Girl Meets Brave

Your 11 questions are:
1. What is your current favorite fashion trend?
2. If you had to eat one type of food the rest of your life, what would it be?
3. What is your favorite book?
4. Cats or dogs?
5. If you could live in a movie, what movie would that be and why?
6. What is your favorite hairstyle?
7. Why did you start your blog?
8. What is the motivation behind your blog?
9. What social media outlets are you on and what are your usernames? (ex: Instagram, bloglovin, etc.)
10. What is your favorite nail polish color?
11. What is the story behind your blogs name?

As always, thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous rest of your week.

P.S. The guidelines for nominating a blog are the following: the individual must be considered a "growing blogger" in the sense that they have less then or around 1,000 followers on Instagram or any other social media outlet.

Liebster Award part one

January 23, 2015

The Liebster Award has arrived to The Teacup of Style!! Woohoo! I am so excited to have received this award from both Kelsey from Honeybee Kelsey and Savannah from Picky Me. I highly recommend that you take a peek at their blogs because of how lovely and sweet both of these girls are.

If you do not know how the Libester Award works, this is an award that is passecd on from growing bloggers to other growing bloggers. You are nominated, and then in return you nominate 11 other lovely bloggers and ask them 11 new questions.

Since I was nominated by two different people, that means that I have the pleasure of answering twice as many questions.  Therefore, I will create two different posts answering Kelsey's questions first, and then Savannah's second. At the end of the second post, I will list my 11 nominations and the 11 corresponding questions. Pretty simple right?

1. When did you start you blog and why?
My official blog launch date was November 18, 2014. I started my blog because I am fascinated with the concept of style, being creative, a lover of writing, and thought that it would be a great adventure to start my own fashion blog. And then BAM...The Teacup of Style was born.

2. Is there a story behind your blog name?
Yes! I actually just did a whole blog post on my blog's name several weeks back. You can read up on that here---> read about my blog name!

3. Where is your favorite place to shop?
Any thrift store that I can get my hands on. I am a huge thriftier. I love finding a good thrift or consignment shop. I then search for hours between the racks upon racks of clothing. It's like an exhilarating search hunt.

4. What is your favorite drugstore beauty find?
Revlon's ColorBurst Balm Stain. You can find them here. (My favorite shade is called "Romantic")

5. What is your favorite book?
This is always an extremely difficult question for me to answer since there are so many good and exciting books out there. Since I can never pick just one book, I always like to respond with the most recent book that I have finished. So in that case... it's Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.

6. Coffee or tea?

7. What is your Instagram?
@teacupofstyle. If you're not already following me, you can do that here!

8. What are your favorite shoes to wear?
Booties. I'm currently obsessing over this pair right now...

9. Fall style or summer style?
Fall style. I've always loved when fall rolls around because I can bring out my comfy scarfs, cute boots, and knit wear!

10. Would you rather buy mascara or lipstick?

11. What is your guilty please?
The Real Housewives series.

Now look for part two of my Liebster Award post coming soon where I will be answering Savannah's questions and nominating 11 blogs of my own!

As always, thanks for stopping by :)

going back to my roots

January 12, 2015

My cute Jack Russell Terrier puppy named Maci wanted to make an appearance! (yes, I am one of "those" that refers to any dog--even a dog that's eleven years old--as a puppy)

My outfit details: Dress || Scarf || Shoes || Beanie || Necklace

Dresses and converses? That was my JAM in high school. And lately, I've been getting in the mood again to bring this duo back around. The key to nailing this look is to pair the tomboy-ish feel of Converses with feminine pieces, such as a glittery statement necklace and a swish and sway dress.

Thanks for letting me experience a blast from the past :)

Thanks again for stopping by.

With love,

all about the girl behind The Teacup of Style (or as much about me that wouldn't begin to bore you...)

Hello! The other day I realized that I have had my blog officially up and running for a couple months now and haven't really shared too much about my life. Ultimately, I sit at my computer and pose behind a camera, sharing my opinions and choices in fashion and life... yet you don't even know who I really am! How uncool is that? (MEGA uncool Jordan!)

Therefore, I offer you a screenshot into my life. Here we go!

#1: I have always been an avid reader. Before I could even officially read in my younger days, my parents would often find me holding a book and making up a story to the book. I would add my own words, own plot line...(you get the point). Barnes and Noble is still my favorite favorite favorite place to go to! I also think the greatest feeling ever is that "Ahhh!" feeling you get after finishing a book.

#2: Pictured below is my insanely handsome, extremely dapper, superhero of a boyfriend named Bradford. Our favorite activity together is to grab either a warm drink from Starbucks (mocha for me) or a yummy iced tea with boba (again, strawberry green tea with mini boba for me), put on the latest Sherlock episode, and become vegetables in a warm spot. He puts up with my animal obsession and Harry Potter jokes, so he basically receives 10,000 brownie points in my book. Look Mom, I found someone who is just as nerdy as I am! ;)

#3: Fun fact: I'm a twin! You probably didn't see that one coming, did yah?

#4: Pictured below is a photo of my best friends! They're the greatest and are both awesomely unique in their own individual ways.

#5: If I'm not in class, doing homework, blogging, or working, you will probably find me running. I'm currently a college athlete who deals with the common struggle of trying to balance everything (19 units, 8 hours of work a week, 5 hours of volunteering at a elementary school, mounds of homework, daily practice, and occasionally trying to find time to breathe...) but I wouldn't want it any other way! Running has taught me so much over the years, plus it has also forced me to eat more food during my meals than most males do--an accomplishment that I hold dearly to my heart. ;)

#6: Saying that I have an animal obsession doesn't even begin to describe my love for all the fluffy and adorable creatures of this world. I've always had a soft spot for animals and hope to own many puppy's and kitty's of my own one day.

It was a blast going through old photos and searching around through some old memories. Thanks for letting me enjoy this. :)

As always, thanks for stopping by.

With love,

P.S. Follow my blog's account on Bloglovin and my Instagram :)

My outfit details: Fossil watch  ||  Tiffany's charm bracelet  || Target booties  || Tiffany's earrings  || Dogeared necklace  || Old Navy shirt || Target outwear  ||  (necklace: gift from mommy :D)

Here are direct links to my arm candy below (just click on the picture and it will bring you to where you need to go):

Lately I have been into mixing and matching colors. Mixing colors that are in the same color family help to create a refreshing look.

And boy has it been warm here--80 degrees to be exact! It would be wonderful if some of you could send some cooler weather our way (pretty please) ;)

Have a wonderful rest of your week!

Now Presenting the Wonderful Kendra Scott

Woohoo! I am so excited to post my first blog post of 2015! Meanwhile, it has been as bright and sunny as can be lately here in Southern California and I've been soaking up my relaxing time at home before I head back to school for my sixth semester of college. Ugh, where has the time gone? I'll be coming up on my last year of college before I even know it!

I had a wonderful couple of days spending time at my boyfriends house for New Years: eating sweets, watching loads of football, and cuddling with their incredibly cute cats.

My boyfriend's incredibly fashion savvy mommy treated me to something I have been eyeing for a while this New Year: Kendra Scott Earrings (as displayed in the pictures above). Holy guacamole, I adore them and am so excited to finally have a pair of my own! Thank you Momma Ortlund! Let's just say that you will probably be seeing a lot of pictures of these in the future...

I hope that everyone had a wonderful beginning of their 2015!

With Love,

I've been having a wonderful Winter break at home: drinking peppermint hot chocolate (both homemade and from
Starbucks), reading the book Gone Girl (I highly recommend this book), spending time with my family, and getting a ton of much needed rest. Thankfully the weather has cooled down a lot when compared to weeks previously. It even got down to 33 degrees last night. Woohoo!
I hope that everyone is having a wonderful Holiday season.
